Font Technology

jpFonts starts with so-called variable fonts. Variable fonts are linearly interpolable OpenType fonts. A variable font consists of a font file, with which different weights, font widths and font layers can be interpolated and generated in an application program (picture DIN Vario).

What is new is that jpFonts not only offers a Latin font (DIN Vario) by Volker Schnebel as OT Variable Font, but can also provide two Chinese fonts in Hei and Song style as OT Variable Fonts. This opens up completely new design and production possibilities for designers and typographers.
